Finishing school is a major milestone, and deciding what comes next can feel like a big step.
Whether you are considering university, TAFE, an apprenticeship, entering the workforce, taking a gap year or exploring another pathway, there is no single right option. The important thing is having access to reliable information so you can make the choice that is right for you.
My own career began with an apprenticeship as a boilermaker, and the path from there was certainly not something I could have mapped out at the time. There are many different ways to build a rewarding career, and often the journey isn’t a straight line.
The 2026 School Leavers’ Guide has been put together to help young people across the Flynn electorate, along with their families, teachers and support networks, navigate the options available after school.
The guide includes information on:
- Career development and employment support
- Further education and training opportunities
- Financial assistance and other support
- Mental health and wellbeing services
- Useful websites and government resources
- Practical information including Medicare and enrolling to vote
Please contact my office on (07) 49725465 or colin.boycemp@aph.gov.au for further assistance. It is also important to enrol to vote if you haven’t already – please contact my office and we’ll send you an enrolment form.
Wishing you confidence and success as you take this exciting step into the future.
