About Colin Boyce

I am Colin Boyce, the elected Federal Member proudly representing the seat of Flynn in Canberra for the 48th Parliament and I have dedicated my life to serving the people of Central Queensland.

I am married to Terri and we have three adult children and six grandchildren. Terri is the Deputy Mayor of Banana Shire Council and together we share a deep commitment to public service and our local community.

Being re-elected to serve as the Member for Flynn has given me time to reflect on why I entered politics and the background that has shaped me into the person I am today.

I grew up in regional Queensland and worked my way around the state in many industries including the Flynn electorate after leaving school. I was a ringer, a timber cutter, a plant operator and earthmoving contractor. I’m a qualified boilermaker and spent time on the gas pipelines as a high-pressure pipe welder, including working on the QGC pipeline to Curtis Island.

I put my hand up for politics as I believe rural and regional Australia needs strong representation. After serving the Taroom Shire Council as a councillor, I went on to represent Callide in the Queensland State Government from 2017, before my election to the Federal Parliament in 2022.

I am working as hard as I can for the people of Flynn as their Member of Parliament, bringing my practical experience, deep community connections, and unwavering commitment to Central Queensland to Parliament House in Canberra. I understand the importance of agriculture, mining, and manufacturing to our region’s prosperity and work to ensure these vital industries have a strong voice in federal decision-making.

When I’m not at work for Flynn, you’ll find me bushwalking around Central Queensland sandstone escarpment region. I relax while exploring the ranges and gorges and looking for Aboriginal rock art. I have many photos and hope to write a book about my discoveries and bush walking experiences one day.

This passion for exploring our local landscape has deepened my appreciation for the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the Flynn electorate and reinforces my commitment to protecting and preserving these special places for future generations.

As a proud husband, father and grandfather, I want my children, grandchildren and the next generation to have a prosperous future in the regions.

I’m committed to protecting local jobs and thank you for your support.
